What is the total, or as near as can be, cost so far in starting up the specialist paramedic scheme in the ambulance service?

What is the salary range for the consultant nurse in the ambulance service?

Response

The identified total costs to date of the Specialist Paramedic programme are calculated to be £127,429.

This amount includes expenditure for

  • agency staffing
  • relocation costs
  • dedicated vehicle lease
  • standard uniform and equipment allocation
  • training

Pre-existing costs and expenditure which cannot be directly attributed to the programme or distinguished from other areas of the service for example, those relating to Information Technology systems, are excluded.

The total programme costs detailed do not include substantive staff salaries. There are four permanent Specialist Paramedic roles (People Link Grade WFMF). Public sector salary information is available on www.gov.je, and details of the WFMF pay scale can be found at Ambulance residential child care officer youth service and family Support Workers pay scales.

The States of Jersey Ambulance Service does not employ a consultant nurse.
