Police speed checks at Trinity School

I request the following information relating to police speed checks and traffic offences in the area by Trinity school on La Route de la Trinite, between the T Junction with La Rue d'Asplet, at the top of the road by the church, and Trinity Manor gate. 

I would like to request: 

(1) The number of States/Honorary police speed checks completed during the 20 month period from 1st January 2023 to 31 August 2024 split by weekday & weekend. 

(2) The number of traffic offences (including Parish Hall Sanctions) during the 20 month period from 1st January 2023 to 31 August 2024. 

(3) The number of States/Honorary police speed checks completed during the 20 month period from 1st September 2024 to 30th April 2026 split by weekday & weekend. 

(4) The number of traffic offences (including Parish Hall Sanctions) during the 20 month period from 1st September 2024 to 30th April 2026. 

If the request is too broad/narrow, I would appreciate it if you could contact me to determine what information is available.

Response

1. We can confirm that the States of Jersey Police (SoJP) do not hold the information you have requested relating to the number of speed checks conducted between 1st January 2023 to 31st August 2024 split by day and weekend in the area by Trinity school on La Route de la Trinite, between the T Junction with La Rue d'Asplet, at the top of the road by the church, and Trinity Manor gate as States of Jersey Police do not keep logs of this type of activity. Officers chose where they undertake speed enforcement activity, where appropriate, officers may be asked to direct attention to a specific area, for example where there has been a complaints or relevant intelligence indicating an increased risk or concern.

We can confirm that the States of Jersey Police (SoJP) do not hold the information you have requested regarding speed checks conducted by Honorary Police between 1st January 2023 to 31st August 2024 split by day and weekend in the area by Trinity school on La Route de la Trinite, between the T Junction with La Rue d'Asplet, at the top of the road by the church, and Trinity Manor gate.

Article 3 of the Freedom of Information (Jersey) Law 2011 applies, and a response is declined.

2. States of Jersey Police confirm that 6 traffic offences (including Parish Hall sanctions) were recorded during the 20 month period from 1 January 2023 to 31 August 2024.

We can confirm that the States of Jersey Police (SoJP) do not hold the information you have requested relating to the number of speed checks conducted between 1st September 2024 to 30th April 2026 split by day and weekend in the area by Trinity school on La Route de la Trinite, between the T Junction with La Rue d'Asplet, at the top of the road by the church, and Trinity Manor gate as States of Jersey Police do not keep logs of this type of activity. 4. States of Jersey Police confirm that 221 traffic offences (including Parish Hall sanctions) were recorded during the 20 month period from 1st September 2024 to 30th April 2026.

The increase in recorded offences is attributed to the introduction of the 20mph zone in the area of Trinity school on La Route de la Trinite, between the T Junction with La Rue d'Asplet, at the top of the road by the church, and Trinity Manor gate which has resulted in a higher level of detection.
