Response

1. People are eligible for the Subsidised Dressing Scheme if they are ordinarily resident in Jersey and eligible for Health Insurance Fund benefits. In addition, the service user must either receive support from Family Nursing and Home Care, or be resident in a nursing home in Jersey, and have been assessed by a nurse as requiring medical dressings.

Employment, Social Security and Housing (ESSH) does not specify or record wound types therefore, information on the types or origins of wounds covered by the scheme is not held by ESSH. In accordance with Article 3 of the Freedom of Information (Jersey) Law 2011, a public authority can only provide information that it holds.

2. Order forms for the Subsidised Dressing Scheme may only be completed by Family Nursing and Home Care clinicians and nurses within nursing homes. General Practitioners and other clinicians outside these services cannot complete order forms.

3. A list of products available through the Subsidised Dressing Scheme is attached, which is also used as the order form.
