Summary
This report was written by Kathie Bull of Ofsted. It was commissioned to outline the requirements of each department for designing a co-ordinated Island approach to developing, maintaining and monitoring the provision and services for children with serious emotional and behavioural difficulties.
It was anticipated that the report would then be considered and approved by the appropriate committees of the States of Jersey at that time.
The report is divided into 4 sections for the purposes of publication.
Part 4
The final section of the report focuses on:
- educational provision in Jersey, and the support available for children with complex needs, such as care
- centres in Jersey which cater for children and young people with challenging behaviour who cannot be schooled in mainstream schools
- behavioural policies in primary schools
- planning for care arrangements and an absence of a regulatory framework within which the children's homes operate
