Information about the publication of Ministerial Decisions

Ministers are individually accountable to the States Assembly, including for the actions of the departments and agencies which discharge their responsibilities.

The Freedom of Information Law (Jersey) Law 2011 is used as a guide when determining what information is be published. While there is a presumption toward publication to support of transparency and accountability, detailed information may not be published if, for example, it would constitute a breach of data protection, or disclosure would prejudice commercial interest.

The Minister has confirmed the appointment of Mr Graham Self MA MSc FRTPI to undertake an independent review by way of Public Inquiry, through the Planning and Building (Public Inquiries) (Jersey) Order 2008 (amended 2015) to consider planning application P/2016/0870 for the new Les Quennevais Secondary School, at Field Nos. 80, 84, 85, 86, 86A, 87, 87A, 88 & 88A, La Rue Carree, St. Brelade.
The Minister has confirmed the appointment of Mrs Christine Self as Programme Officer.

Reason(s) for Decision:

The Minister has already issued notice of his intention to hold a Public Inquiry (MD-PE-2016-0104) and is required under the provisions of Article 3 of the Planning & Building (Public Inquiries) Jersey Order, 2008 (amended 2015) to formally appoint an independent Inspector to undertake the Inquiry.
