Retail sales figures for quarter 3 2013

On an annual basis:
  • the seasonally adjusted total volume of retail sales in Jersey in Q3 2013 was 1% lower than the corresponding quarter of 2012
  • both the predominantly food and non-food sectors each recorded a decrease in volume of retail sales of 1% on an annual basis

On a quarterly basis:

  • the seasonally adjusted total volume of retail sales in Q3 2013 was at essentially the same level as in the previous quarter (Q2 2013)
  • the volume of retail sales in the predominantly food sector was marginally higher than in the previous quarter (up by less than 1%)
  • the volume of retail sales in the predominantly non-food sector was 1% lower than in the previous quarter
