Event to give children the best start

19 November 2018

Parents, carers and professionals are invited to an event this week to gather ideas about working together to improve outcomes for children.

The ‘Giving Children the Best Start’ event will take place on Wednesday, and has been organised by the Early Years Childhood Partnership (EYCP). The session will allow families and practitioners to come together to share their experiences, and to come up with ideas about how everyone can contribute to giving children the best start in life.

Nicola Mulliner, Head of Early Years, said: “This will be the third annual event that we’ve held, and I’m excited to be able to invite parents and professionals to come and take part. We’ve had some great feedback about our previous events where we had some brilliant contributions, and I am hopeful that this event will be just as successful.

“We want to make sure that we put children first, and that we do everything we can to support families. Coming together to share ideas is a big part of this: it allows us to learn from collective experiences and to collaboratively come up with new ways to improve services and support for local children.”

The sharing and learning event will take place on Wednesday 21 November at St Paul’s Centre. The event is free, but anyone who would like to attend is asked to book online for either the afternoon or the evening session.

The afternoon session will run from 1pm to 3.30pm, and the evening session will run from 6pm to 8.30pm.
