Zebra crossing proposed for Gorey slipway

20 June 2018

The Department for Infrastructure is holding a drop-in session tomorrow (Thursday 21 June) from 3.30pm to 8.30pm at the Welcome Slipway in Gorey for members of the public to view proposals for a new zebra crossing.

The Department has received requests from members of the community to provide an improved pedestrian crossing on the Coast Road. Following the review of various design options, a proposal has been developed for a new zebra crossing at the Welcome Slipway.

Those unable to attend the drop-in can still have their say as the proposals and feedback questionnaires will be available on the consultation page.

The Department will review all the feedback, together with other relevant information, before presenting a proposed scheme to the Minister for Infrastructure.

The Minister for Infrastructure, Deputy Kevin Lewis, said “Following concerns raised, I am pleased that we now have capacity in our programme to start the consultation process for this new crossing. We have developed a good proposal, which I am sure will make the area safer for pedestrians.”
