85% of over 40 year olds fully vaccinated

24 June 2021

85% of over 40 year olds fully vaccinated

The latest vaccination statistics as at 20 June show that 92% of over 40s have had at least one dose of a COVID-19 vaccine, and 85% are fully vaccinated.

Additionally, 36% of 18-24 year olds have received one dose of a COVID-19 vaccine. Vaccine appointments for 18-24-year olds opened just over a week ago on Monday, 14 June. All Islanders aged 18 and over can book their vaccine appointments.

Other key statistics:

  • 86% of over 30 years old have had one dose
  • 59% of adults (18+) are fully vaccinated
  • 42% of 18-29-year olds have had one dose
  • 119,975 total doses administered
  • 68,210 first doses administered
  • 51,765 second doses administered

Head of the Vaccination Programme, Becky Sherrington, said: "The statistics this week show once again how well vaccination uptake is and how we are in a strong position for  the majority of adults to have been fully vaccinated by mid-August. The fact that 92% of people 40 and over have had at least one dose, and many having had two doses of a COVID-19 vaccine, is fantastic.

"Additionally, more than four in five Islanders aged 30 and over have received at least one dose of the vaccine and within just over one week, the Vaccination Centre has seen many young Islanders aged 18 and over attending to get their first doses. Islanders who are getting vaccinated are affording themselves and the community protection against COVID-19 and I'd like to thank those Islanders time and time again for their continued support towards the Vaccination Programme."

Islanders can book their first appointment by calling the COVID helpline on 0800 735 5566 or online on the COVID-19 Vaccine Appointments page.
