Justice and Home Affairs charity fundraiser announced

05 August 2022

As the finale to its first ever wellbeing week, the Government of Jersey’s Justice and Home Affairs department has announced a range of fitness challenges in Broad Street, to raise funds for charity.

Personnel from across the department’s services will be taking part in the ladder climb, rowing and cycling challenges on Saturday 6 August. Family, friends and the public are invited to come along and support the uniformed staff taking part.

The week of wellbeing initiatives [1 – 5 August] includes yoga, boxing, personal training and nutrition opportunities and concludes with the charity challenge that will raise funds for:

  • Rock2Recovary,
  • The Firefighters Charity and
  • The Neil Hussey Heart Charity

Director General, Kate Briden, said: “This whole week of initiatives and indeed the rather unique charity fundraisers, are all thanks to the JHA Wellbeing Committee’s hard work. Our new Wellbeing approach is part of our People and Culture plan, which increases our focus on our wellbeing strategy for all our services and support staff.

“The Justice and Home Affairs family is a broad one, and due to the nature of roles it is often difficult to get staff together in a more informal environment like this. I’m delighted and grateful for all the hard work that has gone into pulling this together, and of course raising funds for three important charities is the icing on the cake of a brilliantly successful week.”

The target for fundraising has been set at £1500, to be split among the three charities chosen. Anyone wishing to support the efforts through donation, can do so here
