You’re invited to a festive, free, fun-filled family event with Connect Me this weekend

17 November 2025

Join us at Hautlieu School this Saturday 22 November, from 10am to 2pm, for a festive day packed with fun and family-friendly activities.

The event offers a wide range of activities for all ages. Families can participate in festive arts and crafts, sports sessions including padel and line dancing classes, and enjoy a special visit from Father Christmas. Live performances will feature both breakdancing and line dancing groups, alongside a bouncy castle and delicious snacks and drinks. Adults are also invited to take part in sit-down boxing and access electric blanket safety checks.

Over 30 local community organisations, charities and government services, are coming together to deliver a day packed with activities, and invaluable support for Islanders of all ages.

Organised by the Local Services team within the Employment, Social Security and Housing department, Connect Me events aim to make community activities and support services accessible across the Island. These free events are held in various locations and offer advice, support, and activities to help Islanders connect with valuable resources.

Local Services Manager, Laura Kangas-Hamon, said: “We are excited to bring the Connect Me event to Hautlieu School to continue offering free activities and joy for families, children and grandparents, while also providing valuable services to Islanders. The success of our lasts two events at St Clement’s School in March and La Moye School in June, is a fantastic reminder of the strength of our community. It was wonderful to see so many families trying something new, engaging with the activities, and taking the opportunity to speak directly with a wide range of organisations.

“By working in partnership with the school, charities, community organisations, and government teams, we aim to bring people and services together and create a sense of community. We are offering fun and enriching activities whilst raising awareness of the support and resources available to everyone, from wellbeing advice to housing guidance. We understand that family life can be busy, and reaching out to various organisations can be challenging. This event brings many of them together in one place, making it easier for families to connect and access the information they need in a welcoming and supportive environment.”
