The Government of Jersey is increasing support for the installation of private
electric vehicle chargers through enhancements to the Electric Vehicle Charger Incentive.
The value of the incentive has doubled from £350 to £700 for all eligible applicants, including
individuals, businesses, and charities.
To better support local businesses in their transition to electric fleets, the EVCI has been
expanded. Businesses and charities of all sizes can now apply for up to 10 charger incentives,
with the flexibility to install them across multiple sites as needed. This change recognises the
diverse operational needs of businesses and aims to accelerate fleet decarbonisation across
the Island.
The Minister for the Environment, Deputy Steve Luce, said: “This increase is designed to further
encourage the uptake of private smart chargers at homes and commercial premises, helping to
reduce pressure on the public charging network and improve access for islanders without
private parking. These changes reflect our commitment to supporting sustainable transport and
reducing emissions.”
The EVCI will continue to run until the end of 2025, and the updated terms and conditions can
be found on the Government of Jersey website.
