The Jersey Heart Team is pleased to announce the appointment of Jack Devin as its new Digital
Research and Innovation Fellow.
This new position has been made possible thanks to the generous support of the Jersey Heart
Support Group, JHSG.
Jack will work across clinical, research and digital programmes to build on ongoing research
and explore the role of modern, evidence-based technologies in everyday cardiovascular care
in Jersey. His work will focus on innovative research surrounding heart failure, improving
patient experience, and exploring how data and digital tools can make services more proactive
and efficient.
As part of the fellowship, Jack will lead and contribute to several ongoing and upcoming
initiatives, including:
- Clinical trials related to heart failure
- A review of wearable technology and its role in predicting heart failure decompensation
- The evaluation of local barriers to outpatient attendance, supporting efforts to reduce
missed appointments and improve access to care.
Dr Andrew RJ Mitchell, Consultant Cardiologist and Clinical Lead of the Jersey Heart Team,
said: “Jack’s appointment is an exciting step for cardiology in Jersey. He brings real enthusiasm
and a strong interest in research and the use of technology and how it can help patients and
clinicians. We are hugely grateful to the Jersey Heart Support Group for enabling this
fellowship.”
Jack added: “I’m delighted to join the Jersey Heart Team at a time when research and digital
health within the heart team is moving so quickly. Jersey is uniquely placed to test, refine and
scale new ideas, and I’m looking forward to working with colleagues, partners and patients on
the heart team’s ever-growing body of research, and test tools that are innovative, ethical and
impactful.”
Mandi Corley Harris, chair of the JHSG, said: “The Jersey Heart Support Group are always
delighted, when possible, to support The Jersey Heart Team with roles such as this.
“Having met Jack, I know he will be a fantastic addition to the team and we look forward to
working and supporting the Heart Team with any future initiatives.”
The fellowship forms part of the Jersey Heart Team’s wider strategy to lead Jersey in research,
digital health, and data-driven approaches into routine clinical practice, strengthening Jersey’s
reputation as a leader in cardiovascular innovation.
