More construction works have been commissioned from local contractors as part of the New
Healthcare Facilities Programme: refurbishment works on Mulcaster House that is part of the
Overdale Acute Hospital development site, have commenced.
Once the refurbishment is complete later this year, the facility will initially serve as a site office
throughout the construction of the new Acute Hospital, before becoming the permanent home
for Health and Care Jersey Facilities Management team.
The refurbishment continues in the series of ancillary projects at the site, including
Development Works, such as the installation of site hoardings and the stripping of topsoil, set
to begin later this summer.
Following the procurement process, in which local companies were invited to bid, the
refurbishment project has been awarded to contractor Larsen Limited - one of many Jersey-based companies to be directly or indirectly appointed by the Programme since its inception.
Bruce Robinson, Managing Director at Larsen Limited, said: "We’re pleased to be appointed for
the refurbishment of Mulcaster House. As a local contractor, it’s rewarding to contribute to the
ancillary works supporting the delivery of the Island’s new Acute Hospital at Overdale."
Access to Mulcaster House will be restricted during the refurbishment, however overflow
parking for the Crematorium will remain in place on the private road leading to Mulcaster
House, adjacent to the Crematorium.
