Three individuals have been sentenced to 17 years and nine months imprisonment by Jersey’s Royal Court
today for the parts they played in a drugs importation into Jersey.
Adil ALIME, 30, received a sentence of nine years and six months, Darren FOURACRES, 47, received a
seven year sentence and Anthony CLARK, 46, was handed a sentence of 15 months.
The conviction of this syndicate follows a lengthy and in-depth operation by the Jersey Customs &
Immigration Service, JCIS, in collaboration with the Avon & Somerset Police’s Serious and Organised Crime
Team, SOCT.
On 1 June 2022, Bristol based Elijah SILBOURNE travelled from Poole into Jersey via ferry. His vehicle was
searched by JCIS Officers who discovered one kilo of cocaine concealed in the boot of the vehicle.
SILBOURNE was given a six-year prison sentence on 12 October 2022.
Further investigation into those who organised this significant importation led to the identification of
FOURACRES and CLARK who travelled to Jersey from Bristol and were stopped by JCIS Officers on arrival
in August 2022.
Phone numbers provided by both men matched two of the numbers linked to SILBOURNE.
ALIME was stopped by JCIS Officers on a separate occasion in September 2022, he told Officers he was in
Jersey visiting CLARK. Subsequent investigations linked Jersey resident CLARK and Bristol residents ALIME and FOURACRES to
SILBOURNE.
JCIS initiated Operation Crimson and started to work in collaboration with SOCT focusing on all three men.
House searches were carried out by SOCT at ALIME’s and FOURACRES’ home addresses in Bristol and by
JCIS at CLARK’s address in Jersey.
Extensive investigative work carried out by JCIS and SOCT, which included analysing phones and bank
accounts, provided strong evidence of the criminal network. Messaging between ALIME and SILBOURNE
revealed the profit they expected to make from the importation and how to evade detection by Customs.
Over the second half of 2022 it was evidenced that CLARK deposited over £28,000 unexplained cash into
his bank account. Over the same period CLARK transferred over £29,000 to FOURACRES, who then
transferred it on to ALIME.
CLARK and FOURACRES moved back to Bristol, and in April 2025 SOCT arrested all three men in the
Bristol area, who were escorted back to Jersey by JCIS Officers and charged.
Senior Manager at the Jersey Customs and Immigration Service, Luke Goddard said: “The collaboration
between JCIS and SOCT was exemplary, and these convictions would not have been possible without it. I
want to thank colleagues in Avon & Somerset Police for their hard work on this Operation. JCIS will continue
to work with outside law enforcement agencies to disrupt and prosecute syndicates moving cash and drugs
across our border.”
DS Sarah Jefferies, of Avon and Somerset Police, said: "Illegal drugs cause untold misery to our
communities, particularly the most vulnerable members of society. We're committed to tackling their supply
and work closely with our partners locally – and further afield – to do so.
"I'd like to thank JCIS for their work in ensuring this case was brought before the court and am pleased to
see the sentences handed down today."
