A new online option has been added to support Islanders who do not want their personal information shared with UK credit reference agencies, CRAs. In addition to calling, Islanders can now opt out online, using services.gov.je.
From Thursday 30 July 2026, the Government of Jersey will begin securely sharing basic personal information (name, residential address and date of birth) with CRAs Experian and Equifax, as part of measures to improve Islanders' access to financial products, such as credit cards.
Islanders can adjust their data-sharing preferences via services.gov.je before 11.59pm on Wednesday 29 July by logging on using their digital ID and changing their “Account Settings” or by telephone before 5pm on Wednesday 29 July on 01534 444444 [option 6]. Islanders who are happy for their information to be shared do not need to take any action.
