Jersey will take part for the second consecutive year in European Garden Days (Rendez-vous aux Jardins) from 5 to 7 June 2026, with participation growing significantly from one garden in 2025 to eight this year.
This expansion highlights the richness and diversity of Jersey’s garden heritage and reflects the Island’s commitment to celebrating its cultural, natural and historic assets on an international stage. The event offers both Islanders and visitors the opportunity to experience gardens in new ways, through a programme of open days, tours and educational activities.
This year the official European launch of the Normandy programme was held in Guernsey on 12 May 2026, providing a platform to promote the Channel Islands collectively and strengthen cultural links with the French neighbouring region. This participation enables Jersey and Guernsey to feature in Normandy’s programme and to attract visitors to discover the Anglo-Norman gardens.
The Government of Jersey supports European Garden Days as part of its ongoing commitment to cultural development, accessibility and international collaboration.
Through its longstanding partnership with the Normandy Region, Jersey continues to place culture and nature at the heart of its identity.
Jean-Michel Knop, Regional Director of Cultural Affairs for Normandy, said: “The 23rd edition of Rendez-vous aux Jardins remains an unmissable cultural event, celebrating gardens in all their dimensions: botanical, horticultural, architectural and historical.
“The growing participation of the Channel Islands marks a powerful symbolic milestone, creating a genuine space for dialogue between heritage traditions and celebrating a shared landscaped heritage that is both familiar and refreshingly different.”
Among this year’s participants is the Eric Young Orchid Foundation, returning after its inaugural involvement in 2025 and celebrating its 40th anniversary. The Foundation will offer free admission until 7 June (10am to 4pm), with tours and classes running throughout the event.

“We are delighted to welcome visitors once again to discover the beauty and diversity of orchids, with free educational experiences and behind-the-scenes access for all. This year is particularly special as we celebrate 40 years of innovation, education and excellence in orchid cultivation.
“We invite visitors to explore hundreds of orchids in bloom, discover thousands more through our viewing gallery, and engage with our knowledgeable team to experience the extraordinary diversity of these remarkable plants.”
