Statement from Emma Baker, Health Protection Senior Nurse Advisor, Public Health:
We are aware of the recent announcement from UK health authorities regarding Meningitis B vaccinations for year 13 and those under 25 starting university or residential further education for the first time this autumn.
We have been working closely with UK partners. This offer will be extended to Jersey students and we will provide an update on local arrangements in the coming days.
Our focus is on ensuring the health and wellbeing of students, particularly those preparing to attend university for the first time, and that appropriate support and advice is in place.
