Last week marked Heart Failure Awareness Week. During the week, Health and Care Jersey's Cardiology team hosted pop-up events at the General Hospital and Central Market to raise awareness about cardiac conditions, with a particular focus on heart failure.
At the two pop-ups events:
- 266 people were seen (compared to 179 in 2025 – 49% increase)
- 100 people were identified with raised blood pressure and advised to visit their GP for further assessment
- One new case of atrial fibrillation (a rapid, irregular heartbeat) was identified, and the individual was urgently advised to attend their GP for medical care
