This recall applies to milk sold in Northern Ireland only.
Ken’s Raw Jersey Milk is being recalled by Kenneth Hanna’s Farm Shop due to possible contamination with Shiga-toxin producing E. coli (STEC).
E. coli can cause serious illness, including severe diarrhoea (which may be bloody), stomach cramps, and in some cases haemolytic uraemic syndrome (HUS), a serious condition that can lead to kidney failure and can be fatal.
Anyone experiencing these symptoms should see their GP immediately, stay away from work, school, or nursery until 48 hours after symptoms stop to reduce the risk of spreading the infection. Do not drink the milk or use it to make other dairy products. Return the product to the store where it was purchased or dispose of it safely, along with anything made from it. This product is not produced in Jersey and should not be confused with Jersey Milk. See the attached recall notice for more infomation.
