This product presents a high risk of fire because the charger had insufficient creepage and clearance distances between the mains potential input circuits and low voltage output circuits. Under fault conditions, the charger may overheat and ignite, causing a fire.
The dimensions of the plug face were not sufficient to prevent access to live parts when plugging in, or unplugging, the plug from the socket. Additionally, the breakdown isolation between input and output circuits did not meet the minimum requirements for insulation in Class II equipment, and there was no safety fusible resistor fitted to the mains input circuit.
