This product presents a high risk of fire because there was insufficient creepage and clearance distance between the mains potential input circuits and low voltage output circuits. If a fault occurs and the product’s charger overheats whilst in use, it could ignite, causing a fire.
The dimensions of the plug face were not sufficient to prevent access to live parts when plugging in, or unplugging, the plug from the socket. Additionally, the breakdown isolation between input and output circuits did not meet the minimum requirements for insulation in Class II equipment, and there was no safety fusible resistor fitted to the mains input circuit.
