Cycle Saturday

​​About Cycle Saturday

Join us for a day to discover the joy of cycling on Saturday 17 May 2025, 11am to 4pm at Les Quennevais cycle track.

The event will be held outdoors behind Les Quennevais Sports Centre near the nursery, changing rooms and children’s play area. 

Children are the responsibility of their parent or guardian. Helmets will be available to borrow for the learn to ride and try-a-bike sessions. Activities are undertaken at your own risk, and you may be asked by the individual activity leaders to sign a hire form or similar before participating. 

Activities include:

  • Try-a-bike: test ride cycles including adapted cycles, cargo cycles, e-bikes and pedal bikes with Powerhouse, Bicycle Workshop and Cycle Without Limits
  • Learn to ride: join a session with Jersey Sport, open to all ages and skill levels from beginners to those looking to gain confidence
  • join a guided cycle ride
  • get your cycle safety checked by a qualified mechanic for free (booking recommended)
  • information about Love to Ride and Better Journeys Week

Further events will be held in July and September at other locations across the Island.

Event details

Learn to ride sessions

Drop in with your own cycle or borrow one from Jersey Sport’s small fleet. Open to all abilities and ages at:

  • 11am to 12.30pm 
  • 1pm to 3.45pm 

Guided rides

Join a ride with a qualified ride leader from Jersey Sport. Meet by the children’s play area on Les Quennevais playing field. 

The times are:

  • 11.30am depart Les Quennevais to Corbiere and return
  • 2.30pm depart Les Quennevais to St Peter’s Community Centre and return

Cycle clinic

Get your cycle checked over for free by a qualified mechanic. They will perform a basic safety check and make any minor adjustme​nts there and then. They will advise of any further work required, which can then be booked in with your preferred local cycle specialist at your own cost. 

All types of cycles welcome, including children’s bikes.

The clinic will run from 11am to 2pm and you can book on Eventbrite​.

Walk in appointments will be accepted, subject to availability. There may be a short wait. 

Try-a-bike

Test ride cycles from a range of local shops including Bicycle Workshop and Powerhouse. Cargo cycles, e-bikes and pedal bikes will be available to try from 11am to 4pm. 

Come and have a go on an e-bike or cargo cycle, the perfect way to get around our Island.

Cycle Without Limits

Experience the joy of cycling with an adapted cycle from Cycle Without Limits. The centre will be open as usual from 10.30am 1.30pm.
