What can be recycled
The metal recycling facility at La Collette provides services for the following:

all ferrous metal, such as iron and steel

non-ferrous metals, such as copper and brass
-
end of life vehicles
-
cooling appliances, such as Fridges, Freezers and air conditioners.

other large domestic appliances, such as washing machines and cookers

End of life vehicles
If you're delivering a vehicle to be scrapped, the owner of the vehicle must:
- complete the reverse of the Vehicle Registration document by ticking the 'scrapped' box
- enter the date the vehicle was scrapped in box no. 1
- sign the document
You must send the Vehicle Registration document to DVS within 7 days.
A parts reuse service is available, and requests can be made with Car Parts Request Hunt Bros or in person.
Cooling appliances
Cooling appliances are accepted at the facility ahead of being sent for specialist recycling processing. Appliances must be delivered complete and clear of any food stuffs (fridges & freezers).
Recycling household metal
You can recycle household metals and lead acid batteries as usual at the Household Recycling Centre at La Collette.

- bicycles
- metal tools
- aerosols
- metal lids
- drinks cans and food tins
- aluminium foil and packaging
- metal framed furniture
- metal kitchenware, such as pots, pans and utensils
