About the consultation
A new Approved Code of Practice (ACoP) has been developed.
This is to help those with duties under the Health and Safety at Work (Jersey) Law 1989 better understand what the law requires them to do.
The Management of Health and Safety at Work: Approved Code of Practice provides authoritative guidance on how to use the framework of the law, along with other ACoPs and industry guidance to proactively manage work related risks to health and safety and prevent harm to anyone who may be affected.
The Health and Safety Inspectorate (HSI) has incorporated its existing guidance as well as that published by the UK HSE and other relevant representative industry bodies
We’re now inviting interested stakeholders to comment on the draft ACoP.
All responses will be fully considered and taken into account when deciding on the best way to proceed.
What we want you to comment on
The consultation relates to the content of the draft document. Not the design or formatting which will be finalised once the consultation is complete.
A questionnaire is provided to help you structure your response. You don’t have to use the questionnaire but it’ll help us consider and analyse all the feedback received.
We would like your views on whether:
- the ACoP is applicable to your business sector or workplace
- the level of detailed guidance provided is appropriate
- there are any areas not covered in the draft ACoP which should be included
