Pedestrian crossing at Route du Fort consultation

Department
Start date28/01/2013
End date15/02/2013
Type of consultationOther

About the consultation

St Luke’s School has recently prepared a School Travel Plan which included a review of walking routes to school. The pupils identified St Clement Road as a difficult road to cross.

This junction has very high levels of traffic, which make it difficult to provide signals for pedestrians without adding more delay to traffic.

To assist pupils and other pedestrians crossing this road, Transport and Technical Services proposes to introduce a pedestrian crossing on the southern leg of the junction banning the left turn into St Clement Road from Route du Fort.  Traffic counts show that very few cars make this turn.

We would like to hear from you if you have any comments about this proposal.
