Retirement of Tammy Fage

06 July 2023

Kate Briden, Chief Executive Officer for Justice and Home Affairs expressed her deepest gratitude to Tammy for her tireless service, her unwavering commitment to championing workplace safety, promoting best practice, implementing robust safety protocols, and conducting comprehensive inspections and investigations that have safeguarded workers' welfare island wide. "I wish her a very well-deserved and happy retirement."

Tammy Fage retired from the HSI at the end of April following 36 years of service within the Government. She joined the organisation in 1988, spending 10 years as a biomedical scientist working in Pathology before moving to join the H&SI as a trainee Health and Safety Inspector in 1998, and was appointed Director in July 2014.

Commenting on her retirement

"I have so many different career highlights during my time, and I am proud of the positive and professional relationships the Inspectorate has developed with key stakeholders to help them take ownership and manage significant health and safety risks, thereby leading to improvements in our high-risk industries, and in particular the construction sector.

I am now looking forward to lots of relaxation and international travel."
