Request

A

Could you please tell me the total cost attributed to the cycle track in St Peter's Valley and breakdown this cost where possible? If cost is ongoing, please provide cost to date and an approximation of further cost.

B

Could you also please provide information on how this work has been, or will be, paid for. Is there any funding outside the SOJ?

Response

A

The estimated cost of the completed St Peter’s Valley path is £1.77m. This is made up of £200k spent on developing the scheme and gaining Planning approval and £1.57m for construction costs, legal fees and land acquisitions. This estimate will be finalised once all outstanding issues with landowners and construction are confirmed. The final short section of path linking to the Vic in the Valley public house and La Route de L’Aleval remains to be completed in early 2018.

Also, included in these costs were essential road stabilisation works undertaken as the roadside path progressed and weaknesses in the valley road’s underlying support structures were exposed.
