Request

I wish to learn how long planning application ecological reports are held on file. How long before they are shredded or destroyed?

Response

In accordance with Article 29 of the Planning and Building (Jersey) Law 2002, all documents which form part of the Minister’s Register of Planning Applications are held indefinitely.

Planning and Building (Jersey) Law 2002

If the ecology report is a document which forms part of the register, it will not be destroyed.

If the ecology report is not a document which forms part of the register, under the department’s retention schedule, it is held for 10 years, and then destroyed.
