How much in unpaid tax and social security contributions has been written off in the last five years? And for what kind of reasons has it been written off?

Response

The Government of Jersey writes-off only irrecoverable debt. Debt can become irrecoverable and written off for a range of reasons which include:

  • bankruptcy

  • serious illness or death

  • hardship

  • left Jersey and unknown location

  • triviality

The Tax and Social Security contributions written off in the last five years are as follows:
