For people employed on interim roles via external businesses, are their ‘professional services’ rates linked to annual Cost of living (RPI) increases? Are any Employees spanning the top three tiers of the States of Jersey Executive receiving remuneration linked to Cost of Living Increases, if so, how many of them?

Response

No individuals employed on interim roles via external businesses have contracts which are related to RPI increases of any type.

Tier 1 to 3 employees are eligible for a salary review in accord with public servant contractual terms and conditions. The review for 2018 to 2019 froze pay for employees earning over £100k. Some Tier 3 employees may have received an increase if their salary is less than £100k. The consolidated award for this period was less than RPI.
