I would like to know what set of rules is followed when the States of Jersey Police decide to release the Mug shots of people to the Media when they are convicted in the Royal Court, as their appears to be no consistency?

I would also like to know whether the States of Jersey Police ever take into account the annoyance and disruption such releasing of Mug Shots can cause for any person concerned when distributed online, long after they have served their sentence?

The possible misuse of such photographs online by persons outside the accredited media is outside the control of the States of Jersey Police. Anyone with concerns should contact either the online network service provider or the Jersey Office of the Information Commissioner at the following link:
