COVID 19 - Death numbers

I was hoping you would be able to provide a list of the COVID deaths categorized in an age range, for example 1 to 25 years old 26 to 50 years old 51 to 70 and 70+.

Also, if you could please state what deaths occurred solely from COVID compared to deaths that the person already had an underlining health condition.

Response

As at 31 October, 32 deaths have been registered in Jersey where COVID-19 is recorded on the death certificate.

The age breakdown of COVID deaths is published at the following link:

Coronavirus (COVID-19) tests and cases in Jersey

The information is published in ten-year bands and these can be summed to the age bands requested. If an age category is not shown, there have been no deaths registered in Jersey in that age band.

A death certificate documents a narrative as to why a person has died and may include multiple causes of death (1a, 1b and 1c and 2). The attached spreadsheet lists the causes of death as recorded on the death certificate for the 32 deaths registered in Jersey to date.
