Request

A

I would like to know what the eight small square boxes are on the Millbrook playing field that have appeared since it has been re-seeded?

B

Please provide a map showing how much of the field has been gifted to the church.

C

Also, please advise what information is held in respect of keeping this area open for the purpose of landing a helicopter for health related emergency transfers if the airport is fog-bound.

I appreciate that discussions are ongoing as to what the area should eventually be used for but I am sure I am not the only one that has concerns about losing this as an open space that can be used for the above.

Response

A

There are 9 ETS (Etats / States) boundary stones which separate the land gifted to the Public of the Island from land gifted to the Trustees of the Church of St Matthew's at Millbrook.

B

The information requested is exempt under Article 23 (Accessible by other means) of the Freedom of Information (Jersey) Law 2011 because the information is publicly available at the Public Registry.

The relevant contract was passed by the Royal Court on the 14 January 2022.

The Public Registry is available at Judicial Greffe, Royal Court House, Royal Square, St. Helier, JE1 1JG or at Jersey Archive, Clarence Road, St Helier, JE2 4JY.

The Public Registry can be searched by anybody for free or public registry staff can perform searches for a fee.  Details of office hours and any fees may be found on www.gov.je

Public Registry services, fees and Stamp Duty (gov.je)

C

There are other sites where a helicopter could potentially land if required for any future emergency situations if the Millbrook Playing Field was no longer suitable.

It should be noted that Victoria Avenue was used in 2017.  The Jersey Meteorological (Met) section have advised that, from a meteorological point of view, the dual-carriageway, opposite the park, is as good a landing area as the playing field.
