Request

A

When did used plasterboard start being processed by Jerseys Green Waste Department and applied to Jerseys agricultural fields?

B

How many tonnes of used plasterboard have Jersey food-grade fields received?

C

Do records of field applications of plasterboard exist?

Response

A

Infrastructure, Housing and Environment (IHE) started processing used plasterboard for the use on agriculture fields in 2014.

B and C

IHE have incorporated 5,730 tonnes of plasterboard into their compost products from 2014 to date.

IHE maintain records of which fields and land have received the compost products but these do not include what will be grown following its application.
