Request

In June and July 2022, many islanders had their blood tested for PFAS chemicals.

Please can we know, when did the test results arrive back on island, and how long has it taken Public Health to inform the islanders of their test results?

Response

The results from the clinics held in June and July were received on the 20 August, 28 September and 11 October. Results were shared with GPs on the 14 October. Information is not held as to when the results were issued to the individuals concerned.

Islanders were informed at the blood test appointment that results would be shared once all of the results were back. The purpose of this was to ensure that Islanders received their results at approximately the same time, to minimise anxiety for Islanders who may otherwise have known other people’s results before their own.
