In relation to the School Bus transportation routes and locations of school attendees per current bus routes.
1. Does CYPES share with the Liberty Bus any anonymised data relating to school attendees per intended bus stop location?
2. Does the CYPES have any information on intended travel method for students of secondary schools?
3. Does the Liberty bus have any information on numbers of students intending to use their services and from which bus stop?
4. Does the CYPES or I&E meet with Liberty bus to discuss the school bus service and if so how often?
Response
1. CYPES does not share anonymised data relating to attendees per intended bus stop location with Liberty Bus.
2. CYPES does not have any current information on intended travel method for students at secondary schools. Schools will occasionally survey their students, but no recent surveys have been conducted.
3. Liberty Bus are their own data controller. CYPES do not hold this information therefore Article 3 of the Data Protection (Jersey) Law 2018 applies.
4. CYPES, including individual schools will meet with Liberty Bus on an ad hoc basis to discuss any specific issues.

For the purposes of this Law, information is held by a public authority if –
(a) it is held by the authority, otherwise than on behalf of another person; or
(b) it is held by another person on behalf of the authority.
