How many complaints were submitted against elected members of the Jersey government in 2024 and so far in 2025?

In addition, how many of these complaints have been considered, investigated and resolved?

Finally, how many complaints in the period resulted in formal action against the elected member?

Response

Complaints relating to Elected Members of the States Assembly are made to the Commissioner for Standards. The Commissioner for Standards is an independent body and as such the States Greffe do not hold information on the overall number of complaints submitted or investigated. 

Completed and resolved complaints will be published on the States Assembly website, and the resulting reports include any actions required. These, along with information relating to the role of the Commissioner for Standards and the related processes and procedures are available on the States Assembly website at the following link –

Article 23 - Information accessible to applicant by other means

(1) Information is absolutely exempt information if it is reasonably available to the applicant, otherwise than under this Law, whether or not free of charge.

(2) A scheduled public authority that refuses an application for information on this ground must make reasonable efforts to inform the applicant where the applicant may obtain the information.
