Please give the number of hospital admissions in 2022, 2023 and 2024.

Please give the number of treatments by the hospital in each of the three years and whatever breakdown is available for type of treatment.

Clarification requested 

To help us refine the second part of your request, could you please confirm whether you are specifically seeking:

• the number of operations for admitted inpatients, or

• a broader count of all procedures, including those performed on outpatients?

Annual figures recorded for Public inpatient admissions to Jersey General Hospital (JGH), from 2022 to 2024, are detailed in Table 1 (attached). The table includes total admissions per year and a breakdown by elective (planned) and emergency admissions.

Health and Care Jersey changed Electronic Patient Record (EPR) systems in May 2023. Theatre activity data is not directly comparable across the two systems, owing to changes in both the breadth of activity recorded in the Theatre module and the named procedure specialties used in each system.

Annual figures for Public Theatre procedures at JGH from 27 May 2023 to December 2024 are detailed in Table 2 (attached). The table includes total Theatre procedures performed each year and a breakdown by procedure specialty, as recorded in the new EPR system. These figures do not include ward and clinic-based treatments or Outpatient activity which is not captured in the Theatre module of the EPR, nor activity which takes place at other sites across Health and Care Jersey.
