​​​​A report was commissioned to review the heritage value of the Romerils' Building at 17-21 Dumaresq Street, St Helier following a representation against the proposal to list the building because of its architectural and historical interest.

Romerils was entered on the first Historic Buildings Register in Jersey in 1992 as a Building of Local Interest (BLI). In the 2011 Jersey Historic Environment Resurvey the listing categories were re-designated and the guidelines reconsidered. Romerils was re-evaluated and listed as Grade 4. Under this category it is recognised that buildings may not have well preserved interiors; that the exterior, while retaining its general characteristics and proportions, may be altered.

Romerils covers an area built in three sections. The first building built by Romeril's was in 1963.

In 1972, a small extension was added, designed by J. Douglas Smith, taking in 15 Dumaresq Street to the south

In 1973 an extension was added, also designed by J. Douglas Smith, to extend around the corner into Hue Street.

In 2008 the original loading bay to Dumaresq Street was replaced by a new pedestrian entrance.
