Fiona Nelson sees private patients at Gloucester Street Clinic and the Antenatal Clinic at Jersey General Hospital (obstetric patients).

Specialty

Fiona specialises in pelvic pain, menstrual disorders, hormonal problems, psychosexual medicine, reproductive problems, contraception, HRT and cervical screening.

Other areas of interest include ultrasound scanning, surgery including laparoscopic and hysteroscopic (‘keyhole’) surgery and colposcopy for cervical abnormalities.

Training

Fiona graduated from the University of Edinburgh in 1992.

She became interested in medico-legal matters and obtained an M.Phil in medical law and ethics from the University of Glasgow in 1998. Fiona’s postgraduate training in obstetrics and gynaecology was based at the Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh.

In 2002, Fiona was awarded the Gold Medal for the highest mark in the international MRCOG examination (membership of the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists).

Fiona has also been awarded the DFFP (family planning), RCOG/RCR diploma (advanced obstetric ultrasound), BSCCP accreditation (colposcopy), IPM diploma in psychosexual counselling, and diploma in endoscopic surgery with distinction (University of Surrey).
