Kathleen Gillies sees private patients at Elite Surgical Centre, Suite 3.08 Lido Medical Centre.
Specialty
Kathy is the lead for gynae oncology at Jersey General Hospital and specialises in performing early cancer surgery.
She liaises with the Royal Marsden in the UK where more advanced cancer surgery is undertaken.
She has a special interest in colposcopy and urogynaecology, working with the hospital’s multidisciplinary team in pelvic floor problems and urinary/faecal incontinence.
Kathy also enjoys obstetrics and carries out an antenatal clinic each week.
Training
Previously a registered nurse and midwife in Northern England in the late 70s, Kathy spent time travelling before settling in New Zealand.
There she studied and obtained a BSc in Human Physiology.
This enabled her to go to Medical school, where she passed her MBBHB and Diploma in obstetrics and gynaecology.
Kathy spent the next 7 years in obstetrics and gynaecology specialty training, obtaining her fellowship in 2000 (Australasia).
She then spent the next 19 years as a consultant in obstetrics and gynaecology, with a special interest in gynae oncology and urogynaecology.
Kathy joined Jersey General Hospital as a consultant obstetrician and gynaecologist in 2013.
