Sports funding and grants

About sports funding and grants

Jersey Sport coordinate, manage and administer funds for travel, volunteer workforce and schools on behalf of the Government of Jersey. The aim of these funds is to support local sports organisations and schools to continue developing their sport opportunities in Jersey.

Sports grants

There are currently 3 sport grants which you can apply for. They are the: 

Travel grant 

The Travel grant supports the development of Jersey athletes by providing financial assistance towards the travel costs associated with off island sporting competitions and training camps.

All applicants should be either a Jersey based Sports Association, or a Jersey based sports club. If you’re applying in this category, the club must confirm why there is no association within their sport.

Volunteer workforce grant

The Volunteer Workforce grant aims to support Jersey based sport organisations to develop by providing financial assistance towards the costs associated with: 

  • training
  • qualifications
  • upskilling 

All applicants should be either a Jersey based Sport Association or a Jersey based sport club. If you’re applying in this category, the club must confirm why there is no association within their sport.

Move More Schools grant 

The Move More Schools grant is available to Government of Jersey Primary Schools. It intends to support school communities in promoting and embedding physical activity into everyday life for their school community. 

The grant can be used by schools to: 

  • enhance their physical education offering
  • provide extracurricular provision
  • support them to create pathways for children in activities and sport
  • assist schools to increase their infrastructure, inclusion plan, intervention and provide or upskill additional workforce

Travel concessions

Through a partnership between Jersey Sport and Condor Ferries, sports organisations can access a 15% discount in fares for any sailings with Condor Ferries.
