18 August 2006

Passengers departing from Jersey Airport are now allowed to take one piece of hand luggage with them when they fly, but stringent controls are in place concerning the size and content.

Passengers are still able to purchase duty free goods at Jersey Airport after their flight has been called for boarding and they have cleared security control.

One piece of hand luggage (Only).

  • The luggage must not be larger than a standard laptop bag or briefcase. The dimensions must not exceed a maximum length of 45cm, a width of 35cm and a depth of 16cm, including all wheels, handles and side pockets. Hand luggage will be measured and x-ray screened at security control.
  • All laptops and large electrical items, such as large hairdryers or portable DVDs, must be removed from your one piece of hand luggage and placed in a tray at security control.
  • Please note that all passengers will be required to remove their footwear and have their shoes x-ray screened, prior to them passing through the detection archway.

Medicines

Essential medicines in liquid, cream or gel form are permitted for the journey, provided they do not exceed 50ml per person. Essential medicines in tablet form or powder form (up to 50g) can be carried in the cabin. Passengers may be asked to taste their medicines or provide authentication of their prescription.
