Conway Street And Board Street To Be Resurfaced

09 November 2006

Road resurfacing work will be carried out in Conway Street and Broad Street starting on Tuesday 14th November for a period of 3 weeks. These roads have not been resurfaced for 26 years and now require urgent work.

This will require a road closure from Monday to Friday between 9.00am and 9.00pm and Sundays between 10.00am and 5.00pm. Roads will be open at all other times. Jersey Telecoms will be taking advantage of this closure to undertake maintenance works in conjunction with Transport and Technical Services.

Temporary disabled persons’ parking spaces will be provided in Dumaresq Street and a free shuttle bus service will run between the Weighbridge and Broad Street.

The resurfacing work is being carried out by Transport and Technical Services (TTS) and their contractor Brenwall Limited and will mark the completion of the Urban Renewal works which have been ongoing in the area for the last two years.

Resurfacing will start at the bottom of Conway Street and progress to Broad Street finishing in time for the start of La Fête de Noué on the 1st December when the Christmas lights will be turned on from a stage sited on the road at Charing Cross.

TTS will be liaising with the contractor Brenwall Limited to ensure that nuisance and disruption is minimised and managed. Where inconvenience is inevitable, residents, the travelling public and businesses will be provided with clear information in advance of the work.
