Economic Development 2008 Business Plan Published

The aim of the Economic Development Department is to achieve sustainable economic growth and diversification in the economy.

Every economic indicator we have indicates the economy is growing in 2007.

  • Employment continues to grow strongly with almost all the growth in the private sector, more importantly – it is split quite evenly between the finance and non-finance parts of our economy.
  • Bank deposits, funds under administration and trust activity are at record levels.
  • On the macro economic level our economic growth is being accompanied by low inflation. 

This is encouraging news and as we look to 2008 we hope to see even greater growth while remaining ever watchful of inflation.
