Jersey Branding Presentations

04 June 2007

Senator Frank Walker has organised three sessions on Tuesday 5th June at Jersey Arts Centre to present and explain the full scope of the new branding exercise and, having done so, to give States members, the media and the public the opportunity to comment on the proposals in their entirety rather than on just the “golden bird” logo, which has been the subject of much criticism and concern.

The first presentation, for States members, will be at 13:00, the second, for the local media, which will be led by Mike King, the Chief Officer of Economic Development, will follow at 14:30. [Senator Walker will be in the States].

The presentation to which the general public are invited will commence at 17:30.

Each session will include a full opportunity for questions, feed-back and discussion.

Senator Walker said: “In view of the many concerns and criticisms that have been, expressed I have decided that we should lay all the work undertaken on both the brand, and the research that supported its development, before States Members, the media and the public, so that they can see at first hand the full extent of what is intended and what the money has really been spent on. Having done so, I hope that everyone will let us have their views, ideas and criticisms.

I hope that as many people as possible will take the opportunity to participate in what is an important matter of public interest.”
