Resurfacing of La Grande Route de St Pierre Phase 3

27 September 2007

The third and final phase of the resurfacing of La Grande Route de St Pierre is due to start next Monday 1October, on programme, despite significant additional urgent drainage repair works having been carried out in previous phases..

The Phase 3 resurfacing will take place on La Grande Route de St Pierre starting at La Croix au Lion (the junction at la Rue de Point, where Phase 1 started) and progress northwards to La Rue Vegueur adjacent to the entrance to St Ouen’s Manor, the remaining works will take approximately 3 weeks to complete.

For drivers travelling South from St Ouen, the road will be closed following morning peak at 9.15am and will then remain closed until 9.00pm at night. When the road is closed, Southbound traffic will be diverted at St Ouen’s Village via La Chemin de L’Eglise (past the Windmill in St Mary) returning to St Peter along La Grande Route des Augerez. Motorists are advised to allow extra time for their journeys, particularly when making important trips such as travelling to the airport.

For motorists travelling North to St Ouen the road will be closed from 9.15am until 4.30pm, when the road will reopen for Northbound traffic only, to allow the evening peak traffic to return home. At 6.30pm the road will be closed again until 9.00pm. While the road is closed, Northbound traffic will be diverted from Croix au Lion along La Grande Route des Augerez and La Chemin de L’Eglise to St Ouen’s Village.

Access to premises and businesses will be available at all times, where special access is required Brenwal Ltd will be able to advise motorists of their best route by telephone (07797 724 187) or on site.

TTS will be liaising with Brenwal Ltd to ensure that nuisance and disruption is minimised and managed. Where inconvenience is inevitable, residents and the travelling public will be provided with clear information in advance of the works. Advertisements and signs identifying the extents of the works and diversions will be posted.
