Final Stage Of Queen's Road Resurfacing Starts Thursday (04/01/2007) Evening

02 January 2007

Queen’s Road is an important town traffic route and carries more than 11,000 vehicles a day. The top half of the hill was resurfaced during the summer, however, completing the bottom half has been delayed until winter to prevent disruption to local hotels during the tourist season.

The road width is too narrow for traffic to pass safely while the work takes place and so needs to be carried out under a full evening time road closure, from the corner below Pen-y-Craig Avenue to the Rouge Bouillon Roundabout, to avoid the major traffic delays that would otherwise occur.

Working hours will be weekday evenings Monday to Friday 6.30pm – 2.00am for a period of 4 weeks, starting Thursday 4th January 2007, with all noisy working strictly limited to before 10.00pm. During working hours traffic will be diverted via New St John’s Road and La Pouquelaye.
