Investigation into Fairground Accident - Appeal for Information

The Health and Safety Inspectorate are carrying out an investigation into the accident which occurred at the fairground on the afternoon of Friday the 1st August 2008 in which two young girls were thrown from the Mega Bounce ride.

The Inspectorate have sought assistance from the UK Health and Safety Executive resulting in arrangements for specialists from the Health and Safety Laboratory to travel to the Island in the early part of this week to carry out an examination of the ride.

The ride will not operate until the reasons why the accident occurred have been established.

The Inspectorate are appealing for any person, whose name has not already been taken by the Police on Friday afternoon, who may have any information including photographs or video footage of the accident to contact them on 447300 or by email hsi@gov.je
